they are, both of them. when you say tops do you mean the leafy part?

 

Yuppers. I keep mine about 2" from the leaves out of the water. But I believe you can submerge them a little farther if you like.

 

one isnt that tall yet but the other is about 3 inches out. the smaller one, the leaves tips are barely hitting the water.

 

You know they dont need to touch the bottom of the tank right?
I cut out some bits of foam and poked a hole in the center, slipped a mangrove in it and let them float.

 

hm. i might do that. i want it so the roots stretch to the bottom of the tank like a mangroves swamp or something. ill try and buy some foam.

 

Trust me, those roots will be all over the place in no time.
