Alright, well i just bought a 29 gallon tank. What kind of light would i need. It came with a top that haves a bulb of 12w and t8 bulb. Is that enough to keep atleast corals? I mean i dont have any for now, but is planning on having some later on in life. What lighting or is it a top should i get or need? Thanks!

your going to need more than that, you will want to look into some t-5 fixtures probably.

T5 are the prefered choice in marine lighting nowadays. They're powerful, they don't produce much heat and are pretty reasonable;)

That wouldn't grow ANY coral. lol

You need to look into T5 bulbs or you could go with a metal halide pendant. Current USA make about the most affordable fixtures. Somewhere around 100W of T5 should do.

    A 29 gallon is 30" long right?

Here's a pretty good fixture for your tank. The 30" 4x24Watt
T-5 HO Aquarium Lighting: Current Sundial T-5 Canopy Light Fixtures

or a metal halide pendant 150W delux with fan and LED's
Aquarium Lighting for Nano Reef Aquariums: JBJ Lighting K-2 Viper Deluxe HQI Metal Halide Fixture

Or a more basic version still 150W just without fan and LED's

No. You need a new T5 fixture.

You can't put T5 bulbs in a T8 fixture. You need a new fixture. And 1 T5 strip would not be enough. That would only be 24 watts.
