    Dude, you're as bad as I was. I went from 10g freshwater to 75g SW in a month. My wife was rolling her eyes. She still is. I think there might be 12 step programs for people like us.......

    Took my wife about a year to adjust to Nano addition in house.

    Now I get immediate severe "counseling" if the slightest bit of algae build up anywhere on glass...Have to make sure now to do daily. :-[

    Is part of my morning routine after getting coffee started. 8)

    I'm pretty new to the hobby as well -- a little over a month into it. I'm currently running a 6 gallon Nano Cube and am probably going to upgrade to a 34 gallon Solana.

    Anyway, will a method like this effect the length of time it takes for a tank to cycle?

    You got a great deal in the tank!!! So if you are setting up a 125 why cut corners, IMO if you try to cut all the corners here I belive you will end up with a 125 gal swimming pool.LOL Take your time, buy right even if it takes you a while, remember short term gain = long time pain.
