In the future there is only one fresh fruit and veg shop left in New
York. One day this woman queues for hours and says,

    "Got any broccoli?"
"No lady, we don't got no broccoli."

    Next day, same thing.

    "Got any broccoli?"
"No lady, we don't got no broccoli."

    Next day, same thing.

    Next day.

    "Got any broccoli?"
"Lady, can you spell the tom in tomato?"
    "Sure, T O M."
"Can you spell the cab in cabbage?"
    "Sure, C A B."
"Can you spell the stuff in broccli?"
"There ain't no stuff in broccoli."
"That's what I'm trying to tell you lady!"

OK, I will be the first to admit that I have no C-L-U-E about what this joke is all about. Is there any one from Australia that can spell it out for me??
    Thanks,
    Jim

There ain't no "stuff in" brocolli. Replace "stuff" with the "f" word and SHAZAAM, you have a funny joke. :)

You must be a young sprout. Us oldsters know that a 'horse of a different color' just means a different way of looking at something that make thing a little clearer or makes you think about something a different way. :)

Sigh! So much has been lost from our language over the years!:worried:

Not many of us English speaking types use the word "stuffing" for the more expressive alternative :)
