The options would then be the tank or filter.

Hottie, Have you ever dosed Kalk? I only ask because you need to be cautious and do it right it's not a process that you just plug and play. Don't add it directly to the tank, add it to the fliter and if thats too hard don't add it at all.
I have a question when it comes to float valves and drip systems used in conjunction. If the dripp system is adding it's volume to the sump why would we worry about the float and skewreing the salinity? Whether the float or drip the system should remain equal because the float won't need to add what the drip is adding and if the drip stops the float would pick up the slack. So you should be able to use both to get the desired result

I would think that you would add this before the media. Please be careful.

Phil > I my case the drip is not equal to the evaporation and have been dripping only at night lately. So I would still need the top off water to keep my sump water level at a steady level so I don't have to adjust the skimmer every day. Now there are days when the tank evaps more water then other days depending on the humidity here. And if I did a 24/7 drip I believe that would be to much kalk in the tank. I only have a small 1000 ml or qt. size aqua doser.

    Nugio-
I have not seen the kalk drip hinder my SG at all but will post if I see a change from 1.025 but I still don't understand why it would change the SG in a tank so can you tell me why you think it would?
