so i picked up a 3-4 inch red brain from a lfs on my way home from work..

it being my first brain and not having extensive experience looking at one i thought it looked great, but after getting it home into my tank and looking at other pictures online this ones center seem as though the skeleton is showing... is it just me? or is that the way its suppose to look.

    thanks in advance,
    Jay

It usually depends on the individual when it comes to the center area....I know one of mine puffs up big time during the day to catch light and you can't see the center, but on my other, you can always see the center. It depends on what light:food ratio they're used to from the wild, I imagine.

Keep an eye on it though, if it eats well or puffs up once it's more settled, I wouldn't worry.

Was it hard to place as they're so fragile? It's very pretty!
