got my mantis tank skimmer

Well I bit the bullet and ordered the AquaEuroUSA nano skimmer 2. AquaEuroUSA Nano Protein Skimmer 2 w/ Needle Wheel Pump

This I noticed in chronological order:
1) This skimmer is tiny. (see picture thats a .9 fl oz water bottle)
2) This skimmer doesn't come with any instructions...
3) Construction and design is pretty sloppy but I can deal for $50
4) the mounting clip won't fit over the plastic supports on my tank
5) This thing is crazy loud!
6) this thing produces micro bubbles like crazy
7) this thing is very difficult to adjust, and I am not sure where I should adjust the bubbles too (no instructions)
8) after getting it dialed in... Hey there is an adjustment for the air intake as well!

My mantis tank is in my bedroom, would there be a problem with running the skimmer only during the day?

I'm not too worried about it. For $50 if it doesn't preform after the break in period I will mod the heck out of it and make it a beast (kinda hoping it sucks )

It seems like most tiny skimmers have similar problems to what you've described. They are usually tunable thought; it's just takes a little bit more patients. If the noise continues, there shouldn't be any issues with only running it during the day.

I have been running the skimmer only during the day because the collection cup is so small it gets filled up pretty quickly and is skimming really wet.

By hook or by crook I will get this thing working good, I am motivated.
