I got mt CuC from reefcleaners today so I aclimated the snails/macro and put them into the tank. Everything is moving around and doing great except the Florida Ceriths haven't started to move yet. I know they can go dormant for awhile but they are all flipped over on the sandbed so will they be able to flip themselves over when they "wake up"?

P.S. If anyone needs a CuC or macro algae definately check out reefcleaners he sent me extra snails and macro for free.

When I got my order of Florida Ceriths, it took just a bit of time for them to come out and start moving around. There were a few empty shells, but he sent more than ordered. We are very pleased, and now they have begun to multiply in the sump.

Also, FL Ceriths have NO problem flipping themselves over. No worries.

Mine took 2-3 days to all wake up.

Cool thanks guys. Some Florida Cerith shells have nothing sticking out of them does that mean those ones are dead or just dormant like the others?

I'd also like to know as my order should be here anytime now.

with my florida ceriths, I put them in my dt and hermits killed them and took their shells.. so I would watch that and maybe put them down in your sump until they are active again..

I only have like 5 hermits and they don't seem to be messing with the ceriths.

I often can't see the snail when they're closed up in the shell. Normal.

I've got a dozen or so hermits... They have taken some of the cerith shells from the snails (this does happen) but, for the most part, this isn't really a problem for me.

Alright good I'll just have to wait for the ceriths to come around. Everyone else seems to be doing good especially the nerites they are moving all over the place.
