got new snails with rock barnacles attached

    I recently added another 48 snails to the 180 to fortify the clean up crew. One of them had a red macroalgae growing on him so he went in the trash. Another 2 or 3 had rock barnacles attached to them. They are very small but alive. Would you guys keep them or toss them? I don't mind having them in there if they won't hurt anything...

    I think they're a good thing. I had a turbosnail come in with a bunch of them on it's back. Kinda cool.

    I read somewhere we can't provide for barnacles so they normally die in captivity.

    I read they eat phytoplankton. I'll do some more research. I was kind of happy to spot them. I've had nothing but bad luck lately so this is a welcome change.

    Not sure if mine are still in there. They were on a shell that kept moving around.

    I had about 20 or 30 at one point, they are filter feeders that have a huge appetite, they will probably survive for a few months and then die off but the will not damage your tank at all
