    Leds would cost a little more but you will save the money in the long run because you won't have to buy new bulb for about 20 years. =P And it is always nice to have another tank up and running just incase you have a problem in one of them :) (my excuse for having more than one tank)

    ya as long as I wait untill right befor we move then I should be able to afford some leds. I have 4 months to figure it out. I gotta start doing some research on LED lighting, I dont know very much about them right now

    well they are still pretty new in the reefing world but everyone I know who has them loves them. and if you look at the rapid led site at the 48 led setup that should let you grow any sps you want. If you go here and watch his video he has the same set up as me and he grows all kind of sps.

    his success with leds it what made me buy them but I did not get the dimmable drivers but I would say get them if you have the extra like 50 bucks. and also if you go with leds you can get the heatsinks from heatsinkusa.com (thats where almost everyone gets them from) you can't really beat the price.

    If I do a DIY LED set up how many leds should I get, I have a mixed reef with all my sps up top and al my soft corals at the bottom

    I would go with this or this that way if you feel you have to much light you could dim them down a bit to the level you like.

    cool, thanks alot for the help. should I put them on 2 heat sinks or 1. is it just personal preference?
