Got to exited

I bought some sand from marcorock and put it in my tank, forgot to rinse it. It looks like there a sedament on top of the sand should i let it be or take the sand out to rinse it what should I do .

 

leave it be, it wont hurt anything. I use the same sand and dont rinse anymore.

 

Does your water gets really really cloudy when you had your sand

 

The water should settle within a couple days.

 

+1 on it not hurting anything , but its not very attractive IMO
and if you get species of fish that like to dive into the sand bed, like some wrasse species do , this is an aesthetics problem that will re occur

If it where mine, I would hover over the sand bed with my syphon next water change
in 2 or 3 weeks doing this you will have got these fine particles out

thats just me, Im house proud but only within the 5ft x 1.5ft boundaries of my reef set up LOL

In my tank the water settles down to crystal clear in about 18 hours. Steve is correct, it is possiblee to siphon off any unsightly sediment if you dont like the look.
