you could buy one of those grabbers that the old people use ;) that might be easier than going skin diving every time you need to position rocks!

I have one of those grabbers and use it when I can. Unfortunately, they don't really work to pick up a 20lb piece of rock. Also, they are not very delicate or maneuverable when it comes to positioning corals.

I've got an Aurora Goby who has taken up residence under a huge rock all the way at the back of the tank. I can sometimes see his head at feeding time and that's about it. I think that he may have a Japanese pistol shrimp in there with him as well but I'm not sure.

I'm saving my money for a chiller. I talked with Tangster today and I think I'm going to heed his advice and go with at least a 1.5 hp. Now I just need to find a place to put it.

Well I wouldn't say that I didn't plan for a chiller. I already have a 1.5" true union ball valve in line and just waiting for me to plumb the open side to the chiller. I was just hoping that I'd get lucky and be able to save a bit of money (like enough to pick up a D300S and a macro lens).

Early on, I had planned for a 220V circuit in the fish closet 'just in case'. The day that we pulled wire, I decided to just go with 110V because I didn't really see myself using any 220V apliances out there. Now I wish that I had followed my original over-engineer-everthing instincts.

(for those who haven't shopped for chillers in the over 1hp range lately, these babies don't come wired for 110)

I squeaked by this last summer without a chiller.

Id run the ac just to keep my tank cool when I wasnt home. I could have paid for a chiller and the cost to run one for the summer by doing this .

Well Im lookin forward to see you setting up a chiller on this tank :)

Take this for whats its worth because I would still put myself in the newbie category, but is it cost effective to run 2 smaller chillers and save yourself the hassle.

Oh and by the way I look at this thread everyday, amazing tank. You have inspired my dreams.
