GTS what is your Electric and water bill on a setup like this? It has to be outrageiously high to maintain such a large system. You should hook this up to a solar panel or something ;)

I decided to try the electronic CO2 regulator from AquariumPlants. Hopefully I'll have a chance to contact them tomorrow and get a new one shipped out. AquariumPlants.com's Electronic Co2 Regulator

If I can get one working, I'll be sure to past a review.

My water bill hasn't budged one bit ;D. I haven't really looked at the electric bill. We always had a bit of variation according to the month of the year. Also with the remodel, I've got a new fridge, new heat pump, and a few other power consumers besides the tank. Getting a chiller is probably going to bump things up a bit too.

It's quite an adventure but it really has been a lot of fun. Plenty of challenges and lots of amazing beauty.

Alright looking through the last few pages I wonder, how do you have time to reply to all these questions with such detail and have time to run your tank too? Keep up the great work!

Ahhh. That was the only other regulator I would try based on others experience with them.

Update coming, I'll be on the lookout for that Karma ;). I just wanted to let the tank chill out for a bit and make sure that things were stable or heading in a good direction before doing anything else.

I learned during training that you can get a lot done if you cut out frivilous activites like eating and sleeping . I once heard a surgeon say he was taught that "If you can't get all your work done during a 24 hour day, maybe you need to start working nights, too":whip:. Truely, I don't spend much time watching TV.

I was pretty low key for my first year on 3reef but I learned a lot here (and other places) and enjoy helping and maybe amusing my fellow reefers.

For all of you jonesing for some pics, here are the FTS from last night.

Ewww, just notices that the glass wasn't very clean. I'd been putting some new additions in the tank and it looks like a little saltwater dripper over onto the outside.

Those pictures and some of the ones to follow are what you get when you take professional camera gear and put it in the hands of an amateur. My dad came into town from out west and he brought his camera -- Nikon D700 body, SB-900 flash, and a FX series macro lens (I can't remember which one). Anyway, I asked if he'd take some pictures of the tank and he said "here you go, you do it". So here's the results of a pro camera used as a point and shoot.
