Very exciting stuff!! I wish I was there to witness it all first hand. You're doing a good job narrating though. So far the vicarious experience is nearly as good as being there. Don't let up on the updates!!

Tonight should be fun. Among other things, my LFS owner is going to bring a ton of acrylic and his table saw out to my house after the shop closes and we are going to fabricate the weirs for my sump here on site. Oh yeah, we're going to plumb it too. Don't worry Luna (Beuhler? Beuhler? Luna? Luna?) I should have lots of new pictures.

Here’s a photo update on yesterday’s projects: The first coat of poly going inside the canopy. I know that a lot of folks use white paint to reflect more light down but I’m hoping that the spar polyurethane will provide better protection for the wood in the long run. The reflectors (I’m thinking LumenMax Elite) should handle directing the MH’s into the tank.

The second coat is finished now. I still trying to muster the will to go out and coat it one more time.

Some before and after shots of my RO/DI installation. This is the fish closet behind the tank.

Here is the RO/DI mounted on the wall. The 3 vertical canisters on the right are the sediment filter and carbon blocks. The 2 RO membranes are horizontal on top and the 2 DI canisters are on the left. The DI canisters have mixed media in them (by far the most common set-up) but after my original resin is exhausted, I’ll be able to replace them with one canister of anionic media and the other canister of cationic media. This way I’ll be able to regenerate my own DI media – a huge cost savings and a fun project all on its own.

Built in pressure gauge on the BRS RO/DI unit. I was happy to confirm that I have 50 psi going into the system.

Here is the dual TDS meter showing 12ppm after the RO when I first turned it on. After the 1 hour flush/break-in period I only had 1ppm heading into the dual DI and 0ppm for the final product coming out.

I was wondering why you hadn't weighed in yet. Skimmer pics should be up soon. The AlphaCone 300 Skimmers are here now. The very first ones were shipped just over a week ago.
