Yeah, a couple years ago I was spending thousands on astronomy and made it to the field a few times per year. I can enjoy the tank everyday.

30gal quarantine tank is plumbed so that I can fill it with water from the display system and drain it into the sink below so that I candle water changes on the tank without getting my hands wet.

30gal breeder tank will be my frag tank. It is supplied by one of the lines off of the main system pump. This line comes up over the right side. I drilled the back left corner and added the overflow partition. The two tank drains lead to the tank below.

Here's the 40gal breeder below the frag tank. This tank will be an additional specimen tank for things that don't play well in the big tank. Thanks to PufferGirl's influence, I'm thinking about putting a Toby in here. Maybe a dwarf lion fish as well. This tank is supplied by the overflows from the frag tank above.

The tank drains out the right side via two drain lines that flow by gravity to the sump below the main tank.

Another shot of the Reeflo Barracuda (main system pump) and the plumbing manifold coming off or it.

The bottom line is 1 1/2" draininf from the center section of the sump.
Coming off the to of the pump is a 1 1/2" union ball valve and then a 3-way manifold: the left arm goes to a 90 and then a 1" ball valve that is currently closed but available for future use. The right arm goes to a 1 1/2" to four 1" manifold. This mainifold has ball valves on each output. One line is to the UV sterilizer, one is to the 30gal Frag tank, one is the supply to the QT tank when needed, and the last line is for the Calcium reactor.
Coming off the middle of the 3-way manifold is a sweep 90 into a 1 1/2" to two 1" manifold that provides the two 1" return lines for the main tank.

So I can put some perspective on it. Are we taking MasterCraft,Ski Nautic? Or Bayliner,Maxum?

Man, I'm glad you have faith in the carpenter that built the stand the Q tanks are on. That's an whole lot of weight for to be cantilievered off the wall. When I was in high school I worked at a LFS. We made our own stands for our tanks with 2x4 and I've seen those bow and split from the constant weight. Not trying to hassle you just want you to be aware.

I was thinking the same thing. My head would not be under those filled.

I don't believe you are actually making a fish tank. I think you are secretly enriching uranium in your garage. Seriously, this is an awesome set up. I know someone that works at seaworld and he can get you a good deal on an Orka.

My carpenter is a fellow reefer and has a good understanding of the forces involved. That being said, I appreciated you guys looking out for me and I will keep a close ey on things.

Can you please send me your buddy's contact info? I was actually thinking about getting an Orcinus orca for this tank. My plan was to start with a small one and then upgrade to a bigger tank once it grows. If my wife won't let me get a bigger tank, I'll take him back to the LFS.
