    that is so very rad.

honestly though, does that provide you enough clearance to really get in the tank and do stuff (figuratively, of course)

In the electrical biz, there are two kinds of buttons--momentary and maintained. In your case, you have a momentary type of button. I'm not familiar with the details of your canopy lift--and for all I know the remote is actuating a proprietary part; but if this is not the case, consider writing the manufacturer and inquiring if you have the ability to replace their momentary operator with the maintained type. If this is a "can do," then you'll just have to hit the button and you'll have the same type of action you have on your power window--press once and down it goes, all the way. :)

Just to clarify with a real life example of each, you've already covered a maintained switch. The electric window opener on the driver side is a maintained switch. This means you just press and release, and the action it performs is "complete." Another example is the ON, as opposed to the PULSE buttons on a food processor. The PULSE is a momentary switch. It operates only when, and as long as it's held down. The ON is a maintained switch, meaning you press it, and release, and it remains ON until you turn it OFF.

It gives me about 2 feet of clearance right now. I need to shorten the cable up top and I'll be able to get >30" of clearance out of it. The limiting factors are the height of the ceiling and the height of the canopy.

Also the front of the canopy opens up to give me even more access. I can also open the front without raising the whole canopy off the tank. This comes in handy for routine tasks like feeding.

Now that I know how to post video, let's see what else I can do.

I had mentioned that I was having an annoying problem with microbubbles making it into the tank. This was despite the fact that I had bubble trapping weirs on both sides of the sump. I was just getting too many bubbles dowm the returns for the sump to deal with before they were pulled back up by the Hammerhead. These videos are of the refugium side of the sump which gets much less flow than the skimmer side.

Looks nice man, good progress. I would only be concerned with salt creep covering everything due to the bubbling on the last video.

So many ideas so little money!

I love your sig line. Feel free to PM me if I can help you with budget busting ideas. I think my tank is going to finish out at about 3x my original budget.
