Getting close. How big will the reservoir be on a ATO for this monster?

My temporary reservoir is an 18gal Rubbermaid tub. This will probable change sometime in the next few months when I finally settle on a solution that I like.

I'm not sure how it will effect my electric bill. Well I do know how it will effect my bill, I just don't know how much ;). I opened an electric bill today and it was a big drop from last month but that's because we haven't been running the AC this month.

The good news is that the tank won't effect my water bill at all... I've got a well.

Tonight I added new meaning to the term 'wet skimming' when I turned on my alpha cone 300 for the first time. This thing is amazing-- it is dead silent even with 2 pumps running. The Red Dragons are fantastic. The first minute was pretty exciting though... I hadn't paid any attention to the position of the baffle that controls the water discharge from the skimmer and it was fully closed when I started the skimmer. I plugged both pumps in and before I knew it the bubbles had literally blown the top off of the skimmer, soaked the underside of the stand, and were splashing out everywhere. I pulled the plug on one of the pumps to get things under control and then I figured out my mistake. I restarted things with the baffle wide open and the skimmer is still skimming really wet but it's no longer blasting the top off. I'll devote some time over the next few days to trying to get things dialed in. The skimmer is currently sitting in 11" of water and apparently the 300's do best in 10" of water. I deliberately started with a generous water level because I figured it would be easier to raise the skimmer than to raise the baffles to acheive a deeper water level.

    Here it is in action...

I know its lazy but I don't want to read all the way through to find the one thing I'm really wondering. I'm sure its been discussed at least a little. What type of coral are you shooting for?

No coral just FOWLR. I'm planning on about 15 yellow tail damsels. A group that size should help disburse intraspecies aggression.
