Nothing is glued yet. I do have some epoxy but I'm worried that I won't be able to hold things still enough with the tongs for the epoxy to set up and a lot of these are beyond the reach of my arms. I may actually have to resort to mask and snorkel.

Yes, but they're pretty don't you think?

I hope that if I keep them in shaded parts of the tank that they won't multiply too quickly. Anything else that I should be concerned about with them?

Actually a mask and snorkel might not be the worst thing to do. If you can obtain a couple of pieces of scaffolding-rated planks, and have a few feet on either side of the tank for overhang so they're secure enough as a "launching pad" so to speak, it might be a necessary intervention for a tank your size.

You could place the boards a few feet apart (back to frontwise) and lay atop your tank; then with some practice I suppose you could learn to lower yourself down, off the boards (between them), and into the tank without upsetting things or injuring yourself. A flotation device under your chest might lessen your body's tendency to immediately sink down. When you're floating, you can then remove the flotation device, and do your thing.

As long as you have ample room in your sump for the water displaced by your body, this method might work.

I'm not familiar enough with your tank to know whether or not there's room enough for your floating body amidst your LR, but I'm guessing with some finesse, you might have something here.

Honestly, when I first saw the title of your thread and the "700 gallons" aspect of it, it's one of the first things that went through my mind.

If you're a diver, on SCUBA, you could get down, and stay down for as long as necessary to glue down your corals, and other maintenance tasks.

Time will tell, and with experience I'm sure you'll circumvent the challenges as they're presented.

you should totally snorkle! that would be amazing to have the ability to do that right in your own home. Hey you should have your kid snorkle because he would be smaller, and maybe tell him what to do if your to big

It's really impossible for my limited camera to do justice with a FTS. The tank winds up looking small and then everything in it appears microscopic. As a reference, the Frogspawn near the lower right corner is about the size of a canteloupe.

nice open brain.. just wondering, do you have any actinic lights or moon lights to make some of these great corals "glow"?
