I'm hoping for another 3reef video contest, preferably one that has a 1 hp chiller as a prize.

Nothing new int the small tanks yet except that I got the lights up and the powerheads going. I think I going to try getting my temperature issues settled down before putting any more livestock in the tank.

The sailfin tang must be hiding.

I have good news in that I have my wild temperature swings under control for the time being. I got the big spike up to 84.3 when I was running all 4 of my MH's so I went back to just 2 MH's and the tank isn't getting any higher than 81. This is still more variation than I'd like to see and less light than I'd planned for but in the short term I think that less light is a better alternative than a cooked tank. See http://www.3reef.com/forums/filters-pumps-etc/my-tank-hotter-than-your-tank-76013.html if you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm trying to get mentally prepared for the major pain in the ***, er pocketbook that getting a chiller is going to bring. Right now I'm thinking about the AquaLogic 3/4 hp or 1 hp water cooled models. The good news is that a water cooled chiller is (a bit) more energy and it doesn't add a significant amount of heat to the room which is important if I'm going to cram it into the fish closet. The bad news is that to get the 1 hp model I have to run a new 220v circuit and that probably means tearing up come walls and professional electrical help (anyone know if ReefSparky has plans for this weekend?). Tho other bad news is that this chiller is going to cost almost as much as a Gem Tang :(. Unfortunately, paying now seems like the better course than letting temperature swings kill of all my corals. I told my LFS that I had a strict 'no dying' policy for all of the animals that I care for in my tank. I have the same policy at work and I'm darn near 100%.
