    IME I have had live rock out of the water for hours and had no colour changes , when it changes to white its because its dead.
    Did the rock have a curious smell about it when it was unwrapped?
    if not it was never shipped alive!
    Simply White=DEAD if it arrives and is white then IME its dead!!!!! for sure new growth will come eventualy but it can not come back from dead.

    If I was in your shoes I would be more the just disapointed.
    the only good that can come from this is the simple fact that you can rest assure that you will not introduce any hitchhickers.

    True, no hitch hikers is always a plus. I have had my share of gorilla crabs. It has very faded pink and green on the rock but mostly it is white. We'll see what happens over the following days and see if I need to claim that insurance on the package. The box was definitely a mess when it arrived and must have leaked.

    i think when he said it has been curing for 3.5 years he means that it has been in his tank for that long and he figures its cured... that confused me at first
