gotta new sps

    new sps today has some hair algea and bubble on it not bad but i rather not intruduce it into the tank with it on there how to take it off

    bubble algae will or should just pop off take a toothpick or something and remove from the base. the hair algae will be a bit harder. all you can do is brush it off but it may grow back if the available nutrients in the water are feeding it.

    I would try to put it in with an emerald crab. I have had luck cleaning corals with them.

    I've encountered similar problems. I pick the bubble algae off with tweezers to with your fingers. With hair algae, I've found the best thing is to apply a solution of bleach and RO/RI water with a Q-tip, then rinse in tank water and put it into your tank.
