I dont know what section to put this is cause its kind of a general question. So I putting things together to drill my 75gal and the intel on my sump/filter is 2 1" connectors so they will be gravity fed into the skimmer compartment and the return pump will be powerful enough to return all the water fast enough (i think). Would anyone know how i can set it up to say shut off if it get to full or should I not worry? My return pump will be a little giant 4-MDQX-SC 1325 GPH @ 1' of Head?

Sorry but I'm not understanding your question. You want to know how to cut power or flow of the return pump so your display tank doesn't over flow? Maybe you could rephrase your question.

I'm not sure I understand how you have a gravity fed return pump?

its not the pump, its the overflow. you will want to use a gate valve or ball valve on the return pump so you can match the flow of the pump to the flow of the overflow. once this is done, there should be no problem. just be sure that when your pump turns off all the excess water doesnt over flow your sump. as for stopping a back siphon, drill a small hole in the return line just above the normal water line of the display.

sorry, the hole would be for your return line from your pump. as for stopping the overflow. the water would have to drain down to a certain point before it stops flowing. not sure if there is any safe way past that.

I seemed like a smart ass & I apologize. I didn't realize you had the terms confused.
