Alright, so let's hear what awesome deals you've gotten on corals. How you scored them, eg helped someone move their tank etc. This isn't meant to be a thread where you brag about ripping people off, so please don't.

As of today mine is a 12 headed duncan for $35. My lfs is selling them... $25/head ;D

I just bought a toadstool for $9. My LFS sells them for $60-$80! Got it through the 3reef Classified section.

 

Someone getting out of the hobby sold me $1450 store credit for $800.. Kaching.

But I guess my best deals have been a few times buying a frag from someone and they just break off a frag and give it to me.

Got my 10 Dendro for $135 shipped on ebay.

 

I got a ton of nice SPS frags from a local reefer taking down his tank for $50, tyree's and other goodies.

A 30"+ gorg from a (not so)LFS for $25. I had to frag it to fit it in my 55.

I got 4 chalice frags on ebay for $57 shipped.

I got my s. wilsoni for $99.

High and zoas another local reffer gave me.

And my first reef tank was free (at the time).

Probably the best deal i've gotten isn't a coral (sorry; I'm just excited!.) I won a cello in the white on ebay Sunday for $33+S&H ($1100 MSRP:2thumbsup) because it had a crack. It looks pretty fixable and should be just fine.

As far as ripping someone off goes, I did give this one guy zenia and didn't even pay him.;D

 

Haha yeah, I throw Xenia in there with nudibranches, and octopi. You can get them pretty cheap, but do you REALLY want them in your tank?

That's a great deal. I bought a single head duncan for $20. They go for $20 a head in South Florida.

 

Oh I forgot to mention, I think I've got another head on it. The count is up to 13 on it with daily feedings or enriched mysis.

 

I got a chalice for $3 from a lfs and I bought a euro reef rs80 skimmer for $60. The chalice is doing great as is the skimmer.
