    Hi everyone,
I'm extremely new to this hobby. My son in AZ got me interested in having a reef tank when I was there in August. I set up the tank on August 21st. It's a 46 gallon bow front. I now have approx 100 lbs live rock, a green star polyp, tricordia mushroom, 2 clown fish, algae blenny, 2 scarlet legged hermits, rock flower anemone, and many small hermits, and snails. I also have two very healthy atapsia anemones:( I had 2 peppermint shrimp too but they were only interested in attacking the rock flower anemone and didn't bother the atapsia so I gave them to the lfs.) I have pc lights, 2 10K bulbs. I just ordered a protein skimmer.
I've been reading posts on this site for a couple of weeks. I have so much to learn from all of you and want to thank all of you for sharing your experiences, they are so helpful!

    Thanks again!

Welcome to 3reef!A cup of boiling tank water with a syringe will knock out those 2 aiptasias, providing theres no coral in the immediate vacinity.

I hope I did this right. This photo was taken before I added the maxi jet and heater, thermometer, etc. I need to take more photos soon.

    Welcome!

Excellent start. Just add live stock slowly and you should be fine.

welcome to 3reef if you want an easy way to kill aipstasia you can just boil water and shoot it through a syrynge into the mouth of the anemone and it will kill it.
