I'm serious. Perhaps it's not my style of food but I haven't found a single place that suited my tastes.

I went to a hyped up place today and it was one of the worst dining experiences I've had.

I usually end up doing a tour of Chicago to try all the new Michelin starred places during one of the school breaks.

The Lobster House,Cape May N.J.,has dockside takeout.Really good fresh seafood, inexspensive and you eat outdoors with a few really big smelly trawlers docked a few just a few feet from your table.

st louis has a lot of great restaurants, but usually they can be a little pricey. I loved this place called the Melting Pot where it is all fondue. Each of the tables are kind of enclosed for your privacy and they have a heating element in the center of the table and you get a full 3 course meal or even 4 course meal including dessert and a bunch of different selections. It is a full night event. Problem is we went 1 time and for 2 people it was 100.00. Only for special occassions.

Another places we really like are actually in Illinois. There is a place called Fast Eddies of Bon Aire. It started basically as a hole in the wall bar and they have expanded. They have the BEST food at the BEST prices. You can get more then you can eat for under 20.00 for 2 people. They have biggest shrimp for 29cents a piece, big burgers, big elwood on a stick (steak kabobs), chix on a stick (chicken wings on sticks) and all sorts of stuff. Line goes out the door to get food however they run it really well. Normally you place your order and there is about 40 other orders in front of you, however it is usually up within 15 minutes. We go there a lot.

Also there is a place called Lotta-wata-creek that serves the biggest serving of food you will ever see for a very reasonable price. Down home cooking. You literally can feed 2 people off of one entre and still have left overs................and trust me i can eat a lot!!!

We have this place near us called Colorado Fondue (not sure why), where you order what you want. You then cook your own food on these really hot rocks that they bring out to everyone. They also obviously have a bunch of different types of fondue :) We also have countless pizza joints that have great large portioned meals for really cheap.

I just can't get into the fondue thing. I tried the Melting Pot once, and to me it's kind of like renting somebody else's kitchen. If I wanted to cook my own dinner I would have stayed home!

el Vaquero West is one of the best New Mexican restaurants I've ever been too. A little hole in the wall but it makes up for its food. My wife is from New Mexico and she's a New Mexican food snob and even says its the closet to New Mexican she's had on the east coast.

I agree. It's just fun sometimes when you have get togethers with family/friends and want to go out to eat. Sure, it's not my favorite restaurant, but I still like it :)
