    Greetings,

Does anyone know anything or have any experience with the 250 watt MH electronic ballast that EBay seller Greatdel is selling? It is one unit that runs 2 250 watt bulbs. There are not a lot of dual 250 watt ballasts on the market and I was wondering if this might be a generic version of a brand name one.

    Thanks

    Paul

From what little I understand about ballast, I think that as long as it light's the bulb its ok. I was told that the older more affordable style of ballast is a magnetic ballast and the newer one is an electronic ballast. I think the only difference between the two would be the ability to dim and the electronic one uses a lot less power. I don't see why these are 2 major issues so I would say the more affordable one's are fine.

hold up on that dude. As long as it lights the bulb it's fine?? nope. Just because the bulb fires doesn't mean it's getting the optimum amount of juice to do the job. go to this website and play with some of the different ballast bulb combinations.
