Is this anything to worry about? It is almost neon green like the color of my Yuma. I had brown diatom all over the gravel but i cut back the lighting and it eventually died out. I noticed the green algae yesterday and today its on all the white tips of my live rock.

yeah then its coralline...yeah coralline is a great sign of a healthy tank..i have some bright green coralline...and that white think layering on the rock is old dead coralline...coralline is a calcifying algae..

    i would start reading here..
How to Grow Coralline (coraline) Algae in a Saltwater Aquarium - How to Grow Coralline (coraline) Algae in a Saltwater Aquarium

    and read some of these..
    Reef Keeping Basics

Saltwater Aquarium and Saltwater Fish Beginner's Guide - Aquarium Guide

there is also alot of stuff on this website and i would look for these things i just listed in the search of this site..i just dont know how to place old threads in a new thread...

but search: new to saltwater, or how to keep a saltwater tank, and coralline algae, and something like that..

i would def start doing alot of research about things, you will learn alot on the way, but honestly you cant read to much in this hobby..

coralline comes in tons of colors, i have pink, orange, purple, maroon, and a little bit of the green color..it comes it on other pieces of live rock..and can only grow if you water params are spot on..

but that is just if what you have is coralline...from what it sounds like then it prolly is..coralline grows in little patches, you will first see a little dot of a bright color and then the dot will get larger until the whole rock is corvered..also coralline will grow anywhere in the tank, not so much on the sand but will cover your glass and powerheads or plumbing or overflow,,pretty much anything but the sand, but even sometimes on the sand
