i have been doing research on these guys for some time now and decided ill give it a whirl. the one i got from the lfs was slightly bleached but i think i can get this little guy back to health. he had his foot planted to the sand and his mouth looked fine. he has only moved about 2 inches since i put him in last tuesday and yest i fed him a decent size peice of shrimp and he gobbled it down. my clowns seemed to host every coral in my tank so i knew it was only a matter of time before they found this guy. last night i saw them finally checking it out. pics to follow.

    Thanks!

has anyone had problems with cleaner shrimp and nems?
mine practically attacks mine when i feed it. i have to keep my fish net over the nem when it eats so the cleaner doesnt steal its food.
and then once i remove the net after the nem has ate he goes back to picking at him. it doesnt seem like the nem likes it at all.

You might run into some trouble if both of those guys decide to host it...I was always told that a nem should be a decent size larger then the clowns due to possible stress on the nem...I could have been told wrong tho so feel to speak up if any one can confirm or deny this.

Mine steals my nems food all the time! Today I fed it and kept my hand by the nem until the food was completly gone. My cleaner was waiting by my hand and "cleaning" me the entire time.lol But he doesn't bother it otherwise, only when I feed him.

ya same here. hes doesnt do it all the time. but even after i take the net away from the nem he dives in trying to find some food and the nem closes up like its irritated. just makin sure it somewhat normal i guess. I am pretty stoked that the nem is eating though. Its very cool to watch.

My cleaner will steal food from my sun corals. I have to stick around with the turkey baster and use it to give the cleaner a good whack if it gets too close.
