Hey everyone! I've been into the hobby for awhile but still don't know as much as I should..
I purchased two Percula clowns, and a green bubble tip for my 29g cube(eventually to transfer to my 40g breeder once I get LED's)...
And the bubble tip hasn't fully opened itself up quite yet. It ate a bunch of brine shrimp yesterday, I figured I'd try and give it a little shrimp today just for kicks...

Is it the lighting? It's in about maybe 8in into my cube, in the dead center. I've never had an anemone before.. And I really don't want to kill it!!! Maybe i'm just being paranoid. I have a picture of it yesterday, and today...

Now I have some clown fish questions... Off to another area of the site!

Basically, you're being paranoid. You've had it 2 days, have already fed it once and want to feed it again? Don't do that. That will kill it. Relax and leave it alone. Usually takes a week or so to fully acclimate to your tank. Should only be fed once per week at most after that, and only very small portions then.

    Good luck!

6 bulb fixture, 5 running... 3 white 2 blue. I'll leave him be, saw some "poop" or zooxanthellae but that's to be expected within these first few days as he adjusts.. As I understand at least.

Once he's happy, how do I get my clowns to acknowledge him? They're wild caught, which I was told should help..

And I put him there in that spot, and he latched right on, and hasn't even thought of moving. Maybe I'm lucky, or jinxing myself..

Oh and bulb age.. Approx 1.5yrs. I bought the tank used so I'm not too sure. No one else in the tank seems stressed about the light, but I should be purchasing bulbs sooner rather than later. I have a lunar light going all night as well.

Just let nature take it's course. They may never use it as a host but if they are indeed wild caught your chances are much better. Some people try to tape pictures of anemones with clowns in them to the side of the tank but I have no idea if this actually works.Patience grasshopper.lol
If your bulb's are 1 1/2 years old you will need to replace them now.
I wouldn't worry too much about placement as being on the rocks will not hurt it. If it's unhappy it will move.

I taped 3 pics to my tank and after 3 months nothing...so I gave up.

Replacing the bulbs I would switch one at a time so you don't shock em with to much light. Definitely replace em though because that's definitely over due especially if you aren't even sure. When I had t5 I got mine from reef geek and was very please with my purchase.

Anemone moved... And she's happy as a clam! I'm watching her try and coerce him into trying out the anemone now. What a great thing to wake up to!!
The nem looks fuller now too.
Can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!
