Just bought a green bubble tip anemone and it looked great in the store and had two skunk clowns all over it. But now that I have it home and drip acclimating it I see that its mouth is open.

Is this a bad sign or just normal due to it being acclimated and angry?

It has closed up again since taking that photo but still wanted to post it on here before putting it into my tank.

I am going to drip acclimate it for about 2 hours to be safe.

    Thanks.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Gapping of the oral openning is common when acclimating an anemone. At this point I would not worry. It is going to inflate and deflate a lot until it gets acclimated and that could take days. Totally normal.

Congradulations on the new addition. And a 30 min acclimation always works fine for me, never lost one yet and it looks like you picked a healthy one.

Here are some shots of it. Just dropped em in! Really excited, this is my first attempt.

Anything I need to know? Tips? Etc. I've read up as much as I could.

Looks good to me. I would try to place it in a crevace within the rock work so it feels its foot is protected. He will probably move around a bit until he finds a spot he like if you leave the nem on the sand.

I fed mine silversides or mysis every few days.

Like Corailline stated, gaping is normal during acclimation and until he settles in.
