I walked by my tank a few minutes ago and saw that one of my button polyps was closed. I looked closer and saw that one of my blue legged hermit crabs was on it, climbing and what looked like clawing at it. I am afraid that its going to stress out my coral even more than it already is since I just added it yesterday. Has anyone else had a problem with this?

my crabs always walk across my corals. They close up and come right back out when he leaves

i wouldnt worry if it is just a button polyp
you can move of the hermit if you want
things will walk over your corals all the time no harm done, just make sure the coral is secure so they dont knock it off your rocks

Awesome, appreciate the quick response. I always figured they would have to cross over them, I just freaked out when I saw him camping out and looked like he was eating off of it. I kicked his butt off pretty quickly with my small pipette that I use for target feeding as soon as I saw him.

I would leave it alone next time. It may be doing your coral a favor;D.

yeah this happened to my green zoas and the hermit must of liked the cushy bed or something cause he was on there for like two days. Now he is somewhere else and the zoas are fine
