We have three green chromis in our 55gal as well as a yellow wrasse, two false percula clowns and cleaner shrimp. Lately the biggest of the chromis has become very aggresive towards his other "tank mates". He swims quickly around the middle of the tank and when any other comes around he nips and chases them. Our cleaner shrimp dosen't come out very often and we think its from the behavior of the chromis's nipping. Is there is any thing we can do to stop his aggresiveness? The chromis were are first fish and I would hate to see one go but if he continues to act aggresive we might have to take him back to the lfs as a last resort.

You could try adding a couple more Chromis' to curb the aggression by the one dominant one. Also, try changing the rockwork somewhat so that the fish doesn't have the same comfort zone.
Good luck, these two processes sometimes work but not always!

I agree with changing the rock work, I had an aggressive yellow tail damsel, changed the rock work around and now he's a little baby

Lol peaceful temperment thats what we thought when we got them. This one even bullies the yellow wrasse which is easily twice his size.
