I, the stupid me, for some reason didn't like all the hair algae in the sump refugium, there was alot, so, stupid me, cleaned it. At one point my RODI was not putting out 0 TDS water. I now have 0 TDS water coming from a new one. I guess some went back into the return when I turned it back on and seeded the rocks. I have only an Eel in there. That's it. So I don't feed except for a small piece of krill every few days. The lights have been completely out for a week. My room doesn't get much light, I have a window but the blinds are never open.

    What can I do?

I'm running GFO right now and have been for the past ~2 days. Obviously it won't work that fast just wondering if there was some alternative as I'm getting a tad bit ancy to put my first coral in there.

The HA isn't going to hurt your coral. I have a bit in my tank (my next thread is "did my gfo bleach my corals, stay tuned) and my corals are thriving. Well, until I added gfo and I think that may have been a bad move.

Are eels reef safe? Why did you say that it was a mistake to clean the algae? I think some GFO should be able to take care of that algae. It really doesn't look bad in the DT....you could also try the peroxide method to get rid of it on your rocks.....you take the rock out....apply peroxide and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes, return to your tank and it will be gone within 3-4 days....your sand is very clean, I think this method may work for you if your rock is able to be moved....

They won't attack corals or anemones.

Before I cleaned the sump, there was no algae in the DT, after, this is the result. I'll try peroxide.

Let us know how it goes....I know people have dosed their tanks with peroxide but I'm a nervous nellie when it comes to putting anything chemical in the tank.....I would do just a couple of rocks at a time since you have the eel in there.....
