My tanks been running for about 3 weeks now with stock. I have 2 Clowns in it, three hermit craps and a couple snails. There are also quite a few bristle-worms that came along for a ride in some of the live rock. Some are getting quite larges, 3-4 inches I would say.

80 pounds of LR in a 90 GAL tank. One HOB filter right now, three Koralia 4 1200 GPH power heads, and two titanium heaters. I am using RO/DI water at 0ppm out of the DI.

Green hair algae is getting quick long now on the side of the tank that is exposed to natural light through a window. I have yet to put up a blind in the room. That said as soon as I put up my MH lighting I am sure the problem might persist worse.

The algae is only growing on the glass, and the power heads/cords. Any suggestions? My water params seem great so I'm not sure where to go from here. Is there something I could stock the tank with to slowly eat the algae, should I wipe it with a cloth?

    Thank you.

The tank is only 3 weeks old? What I did with GHA was I scraped it with a tooth brush. That should help & get some more snails, As for the glass just get a mag-float.

I use razor blades to clean the glass. Cheap and work well.

How old is your tank? How often do you feed? What are your parameters exactly? What lights do you use now? How long do you run them for?

I think I am going to need to go an additional test kit. right now I can only test for Nitrate/Nitrite/ Ammonia and PH.

Tank is three weeks old stocked with those fish. Well over a month with the Live Rock. I have a Mag float I will use to get it off the glass. Just wondering what could cause it. I feed once a day, a couple pinches of New Life Spectrum flake food at the moment. Really isn't a lot. What ever the fish miss the crabs/snails and Bristle works devour. Every things gone by next day.

Right now I have to 4 foot T5 Actinic lights that run about 10 hours. I have a single MH 250 W that I plan on hanging in due time but I haven't put in place yet.
