I have had this Green long-tentacle anemone for about 5 months now and when i got it i was pretty new to the hobby and wasn't aware that if you simply rip a foot of an anemone off of a rock it will permanently damage it. Well the guy at the fish store didnt no much because it was a fresh and saltwater store and he was the fresh water department, He ripped the foot off. and ever since then My anemone cant completely anchor. he is really cool and i am surprised he is still alive. He eats fine and is always open. But he can never anchor properly and I am just kinda sick of it. is there anything i can do to help it or what should i do with it.

i have a purple tip and when i got mine i asked alot of questions... from what i was told if the lfs does "rip" it off the rock it kills that portion of the foot and cannot b repaired....how ever i have 2
both eating the same thing. all perameters are good so far. when i got them they were clearish, one slightly tanned.. well now the one that was tanned is a darker brown while the other one is turning bright white......any ideas

If your lights are strong enuff try keeping him down in the sand possibly in a corner. It might be easier on him than trying to keep on the rocks

Sounds like the white one is bleaching himself. I dont know much about the bleaching process or even why it happens. I just google and read alot on anemones as they are such a cool animal...the darker one sounds healthy unless it is spossed to be a different color. feeding an anemone is something thats not needed to be done if yu have good lighting. they pick up food out of the water and clean it off their tentacles. But its cool to feed them too,
