I just added copepods to my tank for my oscillating dragonet and I guess they liked the conditions because I've had a bloom of them and they're everywhere. Just keep up with your parameters is ab out all I can say as I'm new to this and definitely surprised myself that they're doing amazingly....

I got mine in one of the near by LFS but you can definitely get them online. DT's live copepods and I feed them DT's live phytoplankton.

Most of mine seem to live on the glass or in a large LR rubble pile I have in the tank for them to be safe. When I put them into the tank I usually use a turkey baster and shoot them right into the pile.
There are definitely people in here with more experience than I have though so read a lot!

pack says to just toss a heater and a couple kitchen sponges in a bucket, add pods and they will grow like weeds. Dont even need a light. Shake the sponges out in the tank and then place back into the bucket for more to harvest on.

Well I had my tank running for about 13 months now. in about the seventh month I said the hell with it and bought a mandarin only $10. I put him in my QT for maybe 3days will the best peice of live rock in my tank. Now i heard of copepods but i have never seen any in my tank. I put the mandarin in and he ate everything I put in there from flakes to pellets. Loved aquadine. He lasted until about 3 weeks ago. I fell off on the upkeep of my tank for a lil while. Haven't seen him since. But all in all it depends on the fish. But wait till your tank matures. I was lucky i think.
