Hopefully you will start seeing tank raised mandarins in the near future. They should be much easier to get eating other foods than pods too. I'm on month 3.

I'm on a year an a half or so on mine - I have lots of pods and he eats mysis and brine as well. If you are thinking of getting one make sure your tank is mature with lots of pods and make sure to get a healthy one that doesn't have a sunken belly like you see in most LFS's - those are probably too far gone at that point!

Thats a big thing....food competition. As long as your tank is 6+ months old, you have a sump, and there are no other competetors like a six line ect, then you should be ok. Ask your LFS to get one in thats eating mysis or something other than just pods. Might be a few dollars more but well worth it.

trust me. If it were that easy, this problem wouldn't be here. If a lfs gets a mandarin that's eating frozen, it's by pure luck. Trust me, every employee of every lfs (including myself when I worked there) tries every single mandarin that comes in the store.

Yea I guess if they could special order mandarins that ate frozen they wouldn't be 20 bucks and there would be a crowd of people in line.
