This is the newest addition to my tank. I got him about two days ago, he got nipped when i put him in the tank but it has stopped now. I see him picking at the rock and glass and I have a lot of pods and a 50g sump with a 30g fuge section. The colors are crazy. I really like this fish. He isn't hiding either, even though he is a new add. What do you think?

nice fish, keeping them well fed in the long term is the challenge. sounds like you've got it figured out though. if your pods get low, buy a bottle of some live copepods to re-seed your tank/fuge.. good luck

There one of my favorite fish, try and see if he'll eat some mysis shrimp. Mine that i had in my old 29 loved them!

thanks. i think i should be fine , but i plan on adding more macro algae every now and then, they come loaded with pods.
the guy i bought the mandarin from scraped the side of his fuge and gave me a piece of macro, so i got a lot of pods there too.

I will give that a try. i have some cyclopeeze(sp?) to try as well. If he eats other foods that would be great, if not he should be ok anyway.

Thanks. It would be cool to get one from ora, that wouldn't have been an option for me for a really long time though.
I wonder if their colors will be the same as wild ones.

Cute little guy! Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones and he'll start eating when you feed your other fish. Then you wouldn't have to worry about the pod population.

    Thanks. i really like him.

That would be cool. i feed frozen shrimp sometimes so he might eventually go for that. i like having the pods though, i like that he can eat whenever he wants and not have to wait for me to feed.

Yeah, if he eats frozen, it means he won't decimate your pod population.
