I have a few areas of my sand that have a green algae coloring to them. I use chemi pure elite in a hob filter. If I manually remove this it just comes right back. Someone once told me a product that is supposed to get rid of this. I lost the email.

It depends on how old your tank is. Did you add something new to the tank? Luna

The green is probably microalgae that will grow as a result of your substrate being a major sink for nutrients. Elevated nutrients in the substrate combined with the end products of respiration as well as aerobic and anaerobic bacterial processes, carbon dioxide, carbon and carbohydrates.

What do you recommend to remove the algae. Will simply less feeding do it? Maybe a little too much carbon mixed with the Ferric Oxide Phosphate remover?
