green slime algae

    i have a green slime type of algae simmilar to red slime but green what is it and what could i use to get rid of it i uped my CUC by 2 hermits and a netrite snail putting in 3 more hermits in by tommorow what elese should i get in there

    i have right now as my CUC

    7 BL hremits (10 by tommorow)
    1 mexican turbo (does'nt seem to toutch it)
    30-40 cerith snails

    I've never heard of green slime algae. If it is anything like red slime algae (cyanobacteria), than increased flow should do the trick. May as well give it a shot.

    Cyano can come in green as easily as it is red. From what I understand, the color it takes will be an effect of the color spectrum bulbs you are using.
    Figure out where your excess nutrients are coming from, and increase your water circulation a little more and it should help take care of the problem.
