We're new around here but we have a reoccurring problem. Our green anemone, about 5 inches, keeps letting go of the rock and getting sucked up by our power head. This time it happened in the middle of the night and the thing looks really bad ( and our tank is extremely cloudy). Why is it doing this and how can we prevent it?

How long has the tank been setup up? An anemone needs perfect water peramiters and proper lighting. If the tank is not properly established and are not providing the proper lighting and water peramiters you are doing it an injustice. They will move around until they find a spot in the tank that they are happy with. How long have you had the anemone?

do you have a hole in a rock so that it can stash its base???? my Haitian anemone likes to take a swim at night so i have to leave the moonlights on so hes happy in his barnacle home;D;D;D ALSO- do you have sponge covers for your power heads...

I don't know how to stop that from happening but you should defiantly watch for signs of death (discoloration etc) because it would suck to lose your whole tank.
How long has the tank been running??

I agree with Reefman.. Your parameters will take a quick turn for the worse if he cashes in his chips.. Good Luck- I like the sponge over the powerhead until he settles in.
