    I put my torch coral in on Dec 30th my first coral. I have been observing it over the last 3 days and not sure if this is normal.

    at around 3/4 pm one side of the two heads retreats - this morning before the antics went on they were both retracted. But now are out again.

    Do torch corals retract off and on during the day?

    It is probably still acclimating to its new surroundings.

    All LPS will retract off and on depending on many factors including expelling waste products. I think what you are seeing is a normal water intake and expelling process.
