Have you tested the water at all recently? How old are the lights? Pics?

It's the lights. When I had my first fresh water tank. I left my lights on alot and my bulbs where old. My water turned green. I couldn't see the fish in the tank, that's how green it was. I had to do a 50% water change and leave my lights off for a few days to make it better

How long do you leave your lights on for?

If your lighting period is 7am-10pm that could be part of the problem.I would cut that time back by half. Also check out if your tank is getting any direct sunlight at any part of the day,as the seasons change the amount of sunlight from a nearby window can also change.
