I will chime in with my honest belief that global warming is one of the biggest hoaxes ever perpetrated by man. Man can in no way affect the cosmos any more than an ant could. Co2 is required by plants to thrive. In the earths not so distant past the earth was in a state of a terrarium like atmosphere (pre flood) with way higher Co2 than now. You can always get rogue scientists to go along with a politically motivated agenda, however, truly competent scientists (2 more just lately in the news) have debunked the whole idea and have proved we are starting to cool even now and are entering a global cooling phase. The ice caps go through their cycles of cooling and melting and none of this is new accept maybe that now the school systems are not teaching about the ecosystem and environment as they did when I went to (private) school. I don't buy any of the global warming nonsense..........Whew!

    Interesting....

Here you have 52 scientist in the UN (and poor old Al Gore) recommending economic changes be imposed on the nations due to the man made climate change, and 650 scientists who disagree…pointing to the natural cycles in the sun and earth orbit as contributing factors….

One thing is sure, there is environmental change. Be due to the natural cycles around us or the effect of increasing industrilaztion of this planet....as more research is completing we now see that the "experts" are disagreeing and more and more evidence is pointing to the natural cycles of this world....

What will we 'know' a year from now?

Let's try to stay on topic here - as it relates to noise in the ocean. No politics.

We are on topic. A hoax is a hoax. From the article; "Mr Simmonds, the society's scientific director, was speaking as the UN Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species (CMS) began three days of debate on a resolution aimed at combating ocean noise, which is caused primarily by shipping, oil and gas exploration and military sonars.

"Noisy activities are producing an acoustic fog that prevents whales from maintaining social groups, finding each other for breeding purposes, and so forth," Mr Simmonds said.

Where is this guys proof? Notice the politics of the article; "which is caused primarily by shipping, oil and gas exploration and military sonars". Man is at fault. As far as the whales and Dolphins (2 very intelligent Mammals) I would compare it to the old saying that if there were a thousand people in a room all talking and your mother calls your name, you instinctively recognize her.

Your 1st post did not address the article at all. As for your 2nd, I don't agree I guess. I do believe we are making the ocean noisier than it was and those examples all contribute to that.
