    Hello all!

I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself - I've been in the saltwater hobby for about 3 years now. This looks like a nice group of people, and there's a ton of great info in the DIY sections here! Right now I have 2 tanks - a 110g FOWLR setup with a Koran angel, foxface, maroon clown, Coral Beauty, Mckosker's Flasher Wrasse, Ocelaris clown, and a mated pair of green mandarins; and a 37g seahorse/reef tank with a single female H. erectus and a variety of seahorse safe coral - zoos, mushrooms, rics, GSP, pulsing and non-pulsing xenia, and photosynthetic gorgs.

I'm actually moving in 2 months (!!!) so the 110 is being broken down and sold off piecemeal, but the Mckosker's and one of the two green mandarins are moving with me into the seahorse tank. Not looking forward to the move - south florida to Wash. DC is going to be a heck of a haul!

For those of you joining us that are new to the hobby - the best piece of advice you'll get around here as a saltwater newbie is 3Reef's slogan
    "Go slow, let it grow."
And for those experianced hobbyists joining us - it's still good advice :p
good luck and post pics soon :)

I live on the outskirts of DC in the greater Metro Area... do yourself a favor and try to find an excuse not to move here :jester:
Seriously, I'd prefer to live in florida if I had a choice

Heh, I was born and bred in Forida - in fact, I've only ever moved southwards in my travels until now. Jobs are scarce here though, and I've got some promising leads up north, so north I go. I think if I had my choice I'd move somewhere to east central florida, like Sebastian or so. It's gonna be a BIG change!

Well you must be going to the Barrier Reef on 2nd ave. I have a friend who is a hobbyist and he lives in West Boca and he has a 110 FOWLR.
I see you have some nice fish there. One of us might take some of it off your hands. When ever your open to it let me know via PM? Fish are a real problem to catch with all the rock in there so let me know when and I'll be able to look at what you have and make an offer if need be.

Yup - Barrier Reef is a favorite hangout of mine. You know you're in the store too much when the employees know you by name and even recognize your voice over the phone! ::) Some good people there, very good people. I also spend some time at Exotic Aquatic in Lauderdale and The Reef Zone in Plantation when I'm in the area.

You know, I'm not really interested in selling the entire 110g tank - I put too much sweat, love and time in it to sell the whole thing. Besides, I know I'll be setting it up again in a year. I wouldn't be averse to the idea of selling the live rock and the livestock though - it sounds goofy, but I'd want the mandarin I'm not keeping to go to a good home. I'm very aware of the fates that are in store for probably 80% of the green mandarins that come through our local fish stores, and I wouldn't want one of my mandarins to just waste away after living "the good life" with me. Doesn't that sound silly?

Hey nothin' sounds silly in this hobby. People don't realize how we get attached to fish and like it was one of my kids I'd want them to go to a good home. Anyway they know me by name at the Barrier Reef as I've been going there almost 20 years. Robin is probably the most caucious of the group there and Pauline is knowledgable Louis is a good guy and he's learning well. Of course I'm in love with Kelly!:cheesy:
Just let me know what your plans are.

Hey, welcome. Keep me in the loop as well if you sell anything off. I'm up in Boynton.
