    Greetings all,

I've just found this place. What a motherlode of info!!

We currently have 2 tanks both saltwater, 1 55 gal and the other, a 125gal and they both keep us pretty busy. Both are fish only tanks, but am getting the urge to try a reef tank, with a new tank in the 300 gal range.

I've had the current tanks up and running for over a 2 years (almost 3 yrs) and have had my share of disappointments and triumphs.
But that's what happens in any hobby. So I take it with a grain of salt (sts).....

Best of luck to all and I need to get reading on the next project.. 300gal reef!

Welcome to 3Reef! I'm sure you will love having a reef tank. The saltwater background is a great start. 300 gallon reef would be real expensive, but i'm sure you know that. Plenty of research is always the best way to go. If it weren't for the internet I would probably be lighting my tanks with candle light

Welcome! I just stumbled over this sight too and have soaked up a lot of knowledge in the past month. I try to read old threads before I post to make sure I am not repeating something that is already in discussion but I may miss something from time to time.
I am amazed at the help these people have given a stranger like me, this is one heck of a family here in the saltwater world. Welcome to the family!

    All

Many Thanks for the warm welcome!

The biggest obstacle that we may be facing is where to put this "Mutha"
Our friends tell us we need to get a bigger house... Otherwise we'll have to dismantle a tank or two..

Take a look at my list and please offer any suggestions for replacements.

Lighting Outer orbit 72" full 24hr lighting

    Refugium or mudsump with lighting

    Protein skimmer Terminator II

    Chiller... Suggestions??

Ozonizer... Suggestions? Or do I really need it

I'll probably build the tank stand since I already have the equipment. We built the 125 stand to match the German furniture that we have and came reall close to a match. And the best part was that it was EASY! Although time consuming.
I would attach a picture but the file size is too large.. I'll see what I can do about that and send one later.

    Thanks again,

    Billymac
