Grim's 210g (Final update.)

Ordered my Peacock Mantis/Clown Mantis (Odontodactylus scyllarus) from iBluewater - HOME today! Should be in the 30g by Tuesday!

I'm thinking of just leaving this system separate of my main display. I have a beautiful Maroon Clown that is a bully, I'm thinking of keeping him, adding a bubble tip nem, and the Mantis and calling it a day for that tank. Leave it where it sits (it makes more sense for how my living room is laid out.)

What do ya'll think? I could probably even use water from my Main tank to do the water changes on this tank.

I don't have a problem with that. So, I have more time to get everything just right for the new Mantis tank! I am, however, not going to move the 30g. It's going to stay a separate system.

 

Got some great news!!! My mantis shrimp will be here Thursday! There was another customer who ordered before me and his is coming out of quarantine today. He's traveling and can't receive shipment till a week or so.. So ibluewater.com asked if he would swap and we both agreed! So sweet.. Here is the pic they sent me. They have been great so far!

 

This is a great week for my tanks! Got a bunch of updates!!

Equipment:
Got my Apex back today... programming is going well. I've got everything running on relatively elementary programming statements. I'll beef it up over time.

Ordered my SM-100 Acrylic Algae Scrubber. It's an awesome unit, much more powerful than any other I have seen for it's foot print. I may have a line on a second one which would allow me to feed like an unattended A.D.H.D kinder-gardener and still keep ULNS.

I got my dosing pumps in and that same day I found a full set up for a 2chamber Reef Octopus calcium reactor for $300 with regulator and co2 bottle.. Anyone want to buy 2 BRS 1.1ml dosing pumps for $75 each? just paid $100!

Corals:
I got about 20 1-2" SPS frags coming from a fellow 3reefer!
I also found a 12" or so tridacna squamosa clam on craigslist; should have it by Sunday!

Fish/Inverts
My Peacock Mantis shrimp will be here Thursday!! The 30 gallon is revived with a whole new purpose.. I'm going to keep updates for it here even though it's a separate system... I don't think there is any need for another build thread.

 

That sounds like great service so far from iBlueWater. I LOVE the color on this mantis shrimp! Congrats!

 

Up to the this point, I can't say enough good things about them. If everything goes well on Thursday. I will absolutely be using them for rare anemone/clown fish in the future.

He looks to be a porker too!!! I'm so excited about getting him.

 

Ibluewater.com is AWESOME!!!! The Mantis shrimp came in perfect condition, and is HUGE and brilliantly colored! He jumped in and kicked up a dust storm.. Once everything calms down I'll get some pics and a video of his first meal! He's pretty awesome. Digging a burrow now. Ibluewater called me to emphasize the strength of this big mother!

I also got the Apex pretty well setup; everything but remote access and of course Kaizen. And last, but far from least the sps frag pack from 3reef member ccscscpc came in today! It's awesome. Lots of great looking pieces. Oh happy day! (including a 2in freebie!)

 

NICE! They sent you pictures? That is totally awesome! Since you bought the large how large is it? I am so hoping to join the Peacock club soon enough. My not so LFS (whom I have good faith in) thats about 2 hours away has pretty good odds of getting me one. Yes 2 hours is my closest LFS of quality. I asked them to special order a couple things so we'll see what pops up. My only hopes is I can successfuly trap my n.wennerae. I've already slowed feedings & offer smaller portions so I hope it gets done without rock removal drama when the time comes.

On the ibluewater area, I've been talking to them about a couple things of interest too. While I cant say I have purchased from them thier communications are prompt & very well defined. Between the experience & word of mouth I would feel comfortable shopping with them. Just need the 100 weather to slack off a little, for livestock that worries me.

 

I would highly recommend iBluewater.com, this experience was great. They have 2 more in Quarantine if you email them, you could have one with in the month! He is about 6", HUGE! And the colors are absolutely brilliant. He's already burrowed his cave and is watching me walk around the room! The clubs on this guy are impressive... I am going to video his first meal tomorrow or saturday.
