It worked really well letting the little maroon get settled and comfortable first. Also with a completely new scape it was like a whole new tank for the big clown. I turned a 5 gallon bucket into a makeshift aquarium for 3 days. HOB aquaclear filter with the media that has been in the 30gallon for a month at least with out being rinsed. Threw a heater and a little bit of live rock rubble. He was just fine for the 3 days he was in there. Probably not too happy. But just fine.

The mantis is now the king of the tank though. It's a 30 tall so I'm hoping the maroons will stay up high and the mantis down low.

I decided not to plumb it into my big system because the tank looked good as far as the room was concerned where it was sitting.

After doing some research I'm not worried. It's just like Coralline said, it's apparently very common for them to spawn after being stressed like the move mine just underwent. The only real concern is my nutrient level because of all the baby batter in the tank! My lps corals went nuts last night.

It was really one of the coolest things I have seen since starting the hobby. As my AI's set into night and only the royal blues at 4%. The haze in the tank with the glow in the dark spew coming out of the clam every few minutes (from the royal blue leds). It was like watching jurassic park. It got so thick you couldn't see to the back of the tank in the dim light. I took a video I'll upload when I get a chance. I don't think the video will do any justice whatsoever though. It was really cool. I sat up till nearly 3am lol just staring at the tank listening to Miles Davis drinking a glass of Makers Mark. It was a good night.

Hey I noticed you have 5 of the Sol LED units. for a tank that is 6x2 shouldn't you only need 3 fixtures.
I asked because I'm in the early stages of a 6x3 tank and it will start off as a FOWLR and I'm thinking 3 Sol units would do it.
    Thanks
    J

BTW need a updated full tank shot (nudge nudge)

Yes. I think 3 is plenty so long as you can mount them high enough. After doing a lot playing around I would suggest to you to get 3 units and swap to all 40degree optics and mount them high. It gives even coverage and excellent par without the spolight effect the standard optics give (70 on the outside and 40s on the inside) If you are constrained to 10" or less AWL then get 4 and go all 70 degree optics at about 6"awl.

I have overkill. I will probably end up taking one of the units and using it on my office cube build that is going to happen sometime next year.

One of my favorite pieces.. This thing has changed so much since it moved in this tank from my 30 gallon.. It's amazing.

The whole thread! That took a bit!

He seems to only be picking algae off the rocks. If he is eating on the polyps they are still growing faster than he is messing with them. If he's picking at my 3 softies though, I really don't care lol... If I see him messing with my LPS or SPS we'll have words though!!

Thank you so much! It's been a dream come true!
