I had some time with the volcano before that video... Lol.

From what I understand, clam's go into a defensive spawning when stressed. They do this to try and create babies one more time in case they die. What I saw, was a white smoke looking spew and every about 2 minutes a large cloud would be release. Apparently it's very easy to trigger this reaction as little as a couple degrees in one day can cause it.

Ok, so today has been an interesting day! I got shafted on the two used Algae scrubbers I was supposed to be getting. So my dealership tank and my 2nd unit are on hold for a bit. I am hoping to have the SantaMonica 100 that came in plumbed very soon. The guys from my LFS should be here to do it beginning of next week.

The mantis shrimp ate for the first time I'm aware of since going in the tank. (I put two smaller hermits that may have been a late night snack)... And he ate (drum roll) PELLETS... I was shocked lol.

I thought I would share a few pictures of the 150 gallon FOWLR at my Toyota store

This is our customer's waiting lounge as viewed from my office. Notice the lady who turned her chair around to stair at the tank!! I love it!

The tank, Stand and all is custom built to allow me to have it free standing (not against a wall)

Not too many fish, because the mean ugly Damsels that I have had since my first cycle ever... are in this tank now. I'm going to add a snowflake eel and a lion fish very soon and make it more of a predator tank.

I'm the shaggy lighter blonde in the middle lol. My Father, my brother and Mother are all close by, with the entire team in the back!

This is the front of our store! We moved in December 6 of last year. HUGE upgrade from the location that we were at for the previous 37 years.

Thanks Heidi! It was definitely cool! And in the end it didn't hurt anything. Everything got super fed and the skimmer went nuts! I did a water change I needed to do anyhow and all was good!

On the downside, the clam hasn't opened fully sense. Which is really making me nervous :( Today was the most open it had been though, and the tissue inside all still looks good.

OK, today through this weekend is looking like super project time! I got what I need to start working on and finish all the hard part of the auto water change system.

I got my Santamonica100 Algae scrubber plumbed in!! Need to fix a bubble problem though. (less bubbles through the system than before though, I used the return that was spraying micro bubbles for the scrubber!) Even with the huge amount of bubbles coming out of the scrubber and straight into my system, there is less around the tank because they are larger and float up faster.

I added a large blue tang, a flame angel, a yellow watchman goby/pistol shrimp pair, and a rock blenny yesterday! Pics coming in a few...

I am experiencing a Diatom phase due to pulling my GFO about a week ago. I may run a small amount while the algae scrubber gets settled in, but I don't plan to run it long term. Between 2 gallon water changes daily, an over-sized skimmer, the algae scrubber and my 320 lbs of very high surface area live rock.. I'm really not worried about algae or waste issues.

So.. I got a bug up my butt to remove 1 AI module from my tank and resituate the rest. I don't have anything to use this module on yet... but 5 was complete overkill and I couldn't get them centered right for my tank anyhow...

I like the new layout. Easier to find some space for moderate light corals. And the tank looks more even in lighting.

I used a method to mount the lights parallel on the ends that I learned from AZdesertrat's thread! Using T-track!

BTW, I aspire to have your tank. Thanks for the pics. They provide great motivation.
