I put one MP60 and one MP40 in my 75gal and there is a ton of flow and not pushing the sand around either they are both at about 60% so i think that i will get another MP60 and MP40 for my large tank. I have hydors dont like the clutter so i was happy to take them out of my tank lol.

    A basic update...

I never got around to adding bio pellets and my N and P have dropped to untraceable. I left town for a week and have been very distracted by working on my VW rail and while I wasn't paying attention the algae scrubber has been growing huge amounts of green hair!! And it cleaned up the remaining waste! So for now I'm not going to bother with carbon dosing. If I do it will be in the form of Kalk/vinegar to start.

Just added a Naso tang, a Vlaminji tang, 2 pajama cardinals, and 4 "chromis" the likes of which I have never seen. Pretty fish though. The owner of my LFS has had 6 of them in his tank since january and I have always liked them. He finally got some in and I bought them. Need to get a scientific name though because I can't find any info on them. Will get a pic up soon.

Yeah.. that's what's kept me from doing it... I don't want to add the clutter but do want some flow aimed directly at the rocks... I may just need to keep playing with the settings on the Vortech... Or just be happy with what I have. I'm not having any problems... Just feel like the rocks could be dusted off better.

Tanks looking great! Glad to hear that the algae scrubber is kicking in more. As far as dusting the rocks, in a mixed reef, it can be tough to get enough flow. Usually I just take a turkey baster to them once a week or so. Enough flow to really keep all the crud from settling, would probably tear apart my LPS corals. It can take an incredible amount...

My Welso is deflated and has been for quite some time.. All my LPS aren't as happy as my SPS, I've increased my feeding and am seeing some good improvement though. I am about to add ROD's food original and ROD's herbivore to my feeding routine. I may add a pellet feeder as well to add some food to the tank in the afternoon while I'm at work.

In other news... I'm getting a new toy for christmas - A 40b and a stand!!

I have decided to add a 40b as a Frag/fugium lol... I'm going to plumb it with a bean animal style overflow on one of the small ends. I have an extra MP10 ES and an extra AI SOL blue light. I also have a 2 bulb 24 " T5. So I'm going to set it up as mostly frag tank, with a DSB and a good bit of chaeto growing under the t5s at the end before the return.

Looks great, I think you should get rid of the vlamingi tang. They get even larger than naso tangs and needs 360 gallons.:(

Rescued him from a 29g ... He's got plenty of room for a few years. I'm moving in 2-3 years to a house I am building and will be including a tank that will be 96*36*30. He's fine in the meantime. Still a baby. My buddy with the 29g though... /facepalm.

True, I worked on getting a decent standing wave with the Vortechs and am much happier with it overall now. I was just over thinking it.

Yeah, it's been surprisingly smooth. I am having some trouble with my LPS right now though. I'm thinking I was underfeeding.

    Thank you!
